The OH lottery soon became one of the most popular in the country and it's easy to see why, as there are an estimated 10 million lottery winners in the Buckeye state every month! Games available in Ohio include nine single state lotteries, as well as Mega Millions and Powerball, which are also available elsewhere in the US.
Of the state only OH lotteries, the Ohio Classic Lotto usually carries the largest jackpot, which starts at $1 million and increases by $100, 000 every time there's a rollover. This means that it's not unusual for Ohio lotto jackpot winners to receive tens of millions of dollars. Classic Lotto drawings take place three times week on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evenings, at 7:29 p.m., and can be viewed on ten different TV stations in the state.
Mega Millions was introduced by the Ohio lottery in 2002, while Powerball wasn't added to the state's list of lottery games until April 16, 2010. Ohio Powerball lottery players soon made up for lost time though, with an anonymous player winning a $211.7 million Powerball jackpot after purchasing their winning lottery ticket in Sunbury for the June 2, 2010, drawing.
All the latest results for Ohio lottery games can be found on Lottery USA, along with the winning Powerball and Mega Millions numbers. With a whopping eleven different games available in the Buckeye state and more than 40 different drawings a week, it pays to regularly check the latest Ohio lottery results.
One of these games is Ohio Pick 4, which was involved in a rather strange situation on November 18, 2006. Football team Ohio State had just beaten Michigan to become the Big Ten Champions in front of an audience of 21.8 million TV viewers by a score of 42-39. Just 30 minutes later, the scheduled OH Lottery Pick 4 draw took place and guess what… the numbers drawn matched the game score, with 4-2-3-9 being the winning numbers. This result meant that $2.2 million was paid out in total, with the 401 lucky winners who had picked the score numbers in the correct order receiving $5, 000 each.
Weeks later, Ohio State lost to Florida for the BCS Championship by a score of 41-14. Within minutes of the game's conclusion, the Ohio lottery had to suspend wagering on these numbers, because of so many lottery players hoping that the game score would strike lucky again. Unfortunately for them, it didn't, as the Pick 4 combo selected that night was 9-1-0-4.
