Massachusetts Lottery scratch tickets
BRAINTREE, Mass. (WGGB) — There’s a new scratch ticket on the market, but you will need a few more George Washington’s to get your hands on them.
Tuesday, the Mass. Lottery released “World Class Millions”, a scratch ticket that the agency says has total prize money in excess of $600 million.
The ticket, which costs $30, includes four $15 million and 36 $1 million immediate ‘scratch-and-win’ prizes, as well as over one million other prizes ranging from $100 to $50, 000.
Until today, the highest scratch ticket in Mass. was . The Lottery adds that scratch tickets are not uncommon and can be found in at least eight other states, including Connecticut and New Hampshire.
A second-chance drawing is also available, where the Lottery says that five $1 million prizes, as well as other cash prizes, will be awarded.
Mass. Lottery explains that $756 million in sales are expected from the new game, with a potential profit of $86.8 million.
Lottery profits are then turned over to the state’s cities and towns as a significant source of unrestricted local aid.
